Why does a man commit his life to a sport? It is a question that I ponder regularly living with a basketball fanatic. His personal values are a huge factor. Dave believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience basketball, even though it may not be the sport of choice in our small community. He has run several basketball camps for students, even being brave enough to host 12 four year olds at a camp! His Social values play a big role. too. Dave is admired by his players. He is committed to this sport he loves and truly cares about the students he coaches. They look at him as a positive and strong role model, often asking him for references for colleges and employment. Dave's dedication to basketball is two fold. He commits his time, during the week and weekends, to allow students the opportunity to participate in this sport that he loves. He also is committed to the sport in order to ensure that the program is as strong as possible for when HIS OWN CHILDREN become high school students and basketball players. Everything he does for the sport is for the benefit of others. Dave truly, 100% emulates a Most Valuable Coach.
