Scott Wright, better known as "Bliff" to the kids, is a fantastic coach. This year he is coaching our novice (ages 7 - 9) team in Innisfail. As a parent fairly new to hockey, I am very impressed with his organization, cheerfulness, communication, fairness, helpfulness, coaching skills and the positive attitude that he uses at all times. Scott is always supportive, respectful and understanding of the boys and girls on his team. The kids, who have varying levels of skill, always have a great time on the ice whether they are winning, losing, or practicing. There are some very good coaches out there. I must say that if every coach were as successful at coaching kids as Scott is and getting them to work hard to improve their skills - without their even realizing that it's work, and not just fun - as well as helping to create such a positive experience for everyone involved - kids, parents, and assistant coaches - more parents would have their children in organized sports. The team Scott has put together to help him with the players is fantastic, and they should also be commended for their part in creating a great season of hockey for everyone on the team and their families. The friendliness, kindness, and the love of the game can always be seen in Bliff and I can only wish that my child will have the opportunity to experience, again, the kind of positive motivation, sense of fun, and leadership she has received this season! Great role models, coaches, leaders, and friends are always welcome in a community and especially when helping to create the positive mindset of future generations: Bliff is an asset and well thought of by many in this community and I hope he continues to coach for many years to come.
