Become a Coach
By learning how to become a coach, you can
provide a positive experience for others and for
yourself. Coaches represent many different roles to
many different people. Coaches are viewed as
teachers, mentors, role models, friends, and as
leaders in the community in which they become
involved. Coaches contribute to the community,
have an enormous effect on the development of
our youth, and participate in a great learning
experience.

... and be the best coach you can be!
Good coaching is fundamental to community sport.
By becoming a valued member of the community,
good coaches can share the positive aspects of an
active lifestyle. The role of a coach allows you to
teach teamwork, character building, and the
fundamental skills of the sport to participants who
are eager to learn.
The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and its sports partners have developed a training and certification program to help coaches become better.
Training is key!
Are you interested in becoming a knowledgeable
and ethical coach? If so, you should consider
coach training. The National Coaching
Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training
and certification program for 66 different sports
and is offered in both official languages across Canada. NCCP workshops are designed
to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from the first-time coach to the head coach
of a national team.
An educated coach trains well rounded athletes
Because a sound mind in a healthy body means more
than physical training, CAC, in partnership with
Campbell's Chunky, developed a Sport Nutrition
program designed to offer coaches, athletes, and
parents access to nutrition tips, tools, and advice as
well as access to sport nutrition professionals in order
to ensure good health and optimal athletic
performance.
